Miss Audrey Baring, daughter of Lady Uiries Baring and the late Brigadier Everard Baring, whose wedding to Capt. Charles Richmond Brown, Welsh Guards, took place in London on Nover- ber 29, is the latest bride to de- cide on bridesmaids dressed like, herself. Several "recent⠀ brides: adopted that Idea
Miss Baring was

a dress of pale apricot-coloured velvet with a fight, bodice and a full skirt cut to form a train.
The frocks of her two brides- maids, Miss Elizabeth Baring and Misc
Diana Richmond Brown, were without a train, but other- wise like that of the bride.g The wedding: took place at St. Martin-in-the-Fields, and the reception afterwards was held. at General Sir Ian and Lady Hamilton's house in Hyde Park Gardens

Velvet, moire and heavy satin are favourite mediums, whilst there is a new ribbed material, called spaghetti-its name per- fectly describes it It has an Edwardian air and is very effec- tive made up in the Princess Way.

In the evening one seea a pale turquoise blue, a real violet, tones of flame gold and therry predo- minating. They we all rich looking and lovely, and give a much more "dressed" air to evening parties than the bale greens, the browns and dirty whites of last year.
FASHIONS BACK VIEW
Many winter dresses are fast- ened up the back-occasionally with ornamental buttons, more. frequently with plain ones of wood or bone. The cowl drapery is also diverted to the back, fal-
Eyebrow Culture
Many of the women who á short time back were
busily plucking their perfectly good eye- brows are beginning to wish they hadn't! It you watch the Alms, you will notice thit, even in Cinemaland, eyebrow have come come into fashion again, the majority of the "star" display- ing quite normally, takk lines.
Since eyebrows an important now, people are asking the best way to encourage. to strengthen a growth that is weik either by nature or by culturi. The best method is to increase the supply of fats to the region of the brow,

ling softly from the shoulders of a frock with a plain' front.
Scarves are tied at the back, too, their decorated ends futten- ing gaily, to the waistline in many cases Or you can arrange a narrow choker scarf loosely, round the throat and tie it in a pussy-cat bow at the back of the neck.
Most evening gowns rely upon trimmings at the back for their ́effect-which Ls rather clever, since when a woman is dancing it is the back of her frock that is seen most.
These long skirts for the even- Ing" can't last long. "We all said It quite two years ago—"so id possible to dance in." But here we are, nearly into 1934, with skirts that not only touch the ground but trial behind, nearly a half yard on the floor.
And there "trains" are not so. Impossible to dance in as they
Personality
The horizontal line is far from unbecoming. As these, tempor arily appear every time a woman raises her eyebrows in surprise, interests, or amusement, they in- dicate an intelligent and alert personality. One may dépend upon it that the woman.. who is devoid of horzontal line is also devold of thought.-
These lines, therefore, are ex- cept in extreme cases, just as well left alone. Far more im- portant to forehead beauty is a good colour and a good shape.
in order to feed the roots that FOREHEAD
have been discouraged by the- pincers and the razor. The most réllable prescription is castor oil and vaseline in the proportion of one part of the first lo two of the second. Work the mixture weli into the pores of the skin by applying it or a clean, soft brush twice a day. It may be found at first that the treatment producea eyebrows that are slightly darker than before, but as time allows of the applications being aber- doned the hairs will resume their normal tint..
BEAUTY
In these days, when women are no longer allowed to froth little „buds di curis close to their eyes aïd drape great loops" of hair on their brows, the forebead one of the most conspicuous features. In many cases the in- ability to displát, á really “be». coming" forehead is a result, not pt lack of attention, but of the wrong kind of attention.
„.. Too much. care is apt to be wasted, for instance, on the lifes "of the forehead. Bo many women spend hours every day with totally artifcial expressions on their faces in an attempt to pre- vent horizontal lines, and min- utes every evening trying, ta eradicate those that are already there
Frown Line
In actual fact, the frown line' is the only ugly forehead line in ekisterice, and this can only be cured by seeing that the eyes are not strained, and the temper not Traved.
seem. I couldn't help thinking thes-when I saw Jeanne Aubert walizing in the "Command Per- formance" with the train of her white lace frock caught up on her finger.

How tall and graceful these trailing fashions make women look! No wonder they are loathe to say good-bye to them.
AND WRAPS
While many of us are delight- ed with the small sequin capes which are appearing in the shops. it is interesting to learn that the full length coat-wrap. is coming la again. This is useful in cooler weather, Dob only for warmth but as a prot tection to gowns of delicate tex ture. At the same time, capes of sequin, satin or tulle are sure to continue in popularity. They are so useful for adding to a sliple frock when we want to achieve a more dressy effect, than use- ful And I have heard before now of an unbecoming neckline, or even unlovely, shoulders, being perfectly camouflaged by these little wraps.
Wide Foreheads
To those whose foreheads have already lost colour, a thorougli cream cleansing every evening and a touch of lemon juice and glycerine left on during the night" Is the only remedy. But is 'is ä very simple one, and can occupy at the most two minutes. The action of rubbing in the cream. with the Anger-tips is all the massage that is necessary.
As to shape, it is not neces sary for those women whose foreheads do not seem to be quite the right size for their faces to say. Oh, well, that's how it is. There is nothing I can do about it since there is plenty they can do..
is
A hairdressing in which there is a short fringe of curls curved round the face from ear to ear at the moment extremely fashionable. It is also invalu able for making a wide forehead appear at least half - ani, inch BRITower,
Another good plan is to brush the hair in a straight fide from a side parting to the opposite temple, and to start the wave below this.
Autumn Day
A few wisps of white cloud, fleck the pale blue sky where it mieets the glow of afternoon to .wards the west, but no shadows pass across the sunlit flelds that have known ́ ́almost "summer's warmth throughout the windless- day.
The bright wings of gulls that wheel above the plough have been glinting in the sun, and its rays have turned the springing wheat" to golden-green.
But the lightness of the day. and all its warmth only show up more clear in contrast the many signs of the declining year..
The beat grass is dry and withered on the downland, the thinning follage of the "trees gleams mockingly from copse and hedgerow, and the long stalks.of. weeds are grey and brittle on the: Howerless banks..
When evening "comes -- and colour fades from earth and sky, the last faint light behind the darkening trees will be tinged with the cold. green of winters
