19th ROUTE ARMY PRINCIPLES.
(From Our Special Correspondent)
Canton, November 29. The officers of the Nineteenth Route Army, headed by Generals Tsai Ting Kat and Chiang Kwang Naf, sent a telegram to General Chen Chai Tong: Commander-in- Chief of the First Group Army, yesterday assuring him, of their attitude towards Kwangturig by stating that the Nineteenth Route Army has no military design or in- tention to attack Kwangtung and at the same.. time requesting the Canton military leaders 'not to be Involved in hostility with. Fukien through the rumours of misinder- standing.
They declared in the telegram that the 19th. Route Army will always uphold the same principle in resistance against Japanese in- vasion and the suppression Communists.just as when they fought the Japanese at Shanghai two years ago. They added that their duty is for the good of the people and the country, but on ac- count of their present environment they had to alter their cause in order to find a way out for the salvation of the "country,
It is learned that this telegram gave a great relief to the local populace as current rumours of an immediate war between the two, provinces have been fabricated through the city since the estab Hshment of the People's Revolu- tory Government at Foochow
