DRIFTWOOD
(BY THE BEACHCOMBER)
Svale The Captain of the s.a which arrived in Hongkong yester- day morning reports that a strong between is blowing Swatow and Tam Too. The wind is blowing East North East and the Bent was so rough that many of his passagers made the trip by rail nearly all the way. While the Svale was in Swatow, a govern- ment troop ship, flying the flag of 7,117 Dr. Sun Yat Sen and carrying more than a thousand troops drew up alongside his vessel. This does pot look very peaceful.
PRIMED FACTORS. According to a customs, report, 2271,195 the factor to be used relating to liquor taxes is 1.19. The beach- comber has heard of intoxicated people being referred to as well primed and wonders if this is meant by a prime factor.
