We learnt from another reliable source that the employees in the Royal Naval Dockyard have been requested to avold going to Repulse Bay and Deep Water Bay as much as possible as there was plenty of malaria in those places.
Nothing Being Done. Dr. Fope confirmed the report that there were plenty of malaria carrying mosquitoes (minimus) in those two bays, but when asked whether the authorities are doing anything in the matter, he replied in the negative. He added that there were numerous streams in the hills surrounding the two bays, and to trace the breeding places of these, mosquitoes would not only entall a lot of labour, but also the expenditure of a big sum of money.

Wilhelm Paul Scheffczyk, a young German, having completed a fort night's imprisonment for stowing away was charged before Mr. Wynne Jones yesterday with being a vagrant.
Detective-Sergeant Mottram said the defendant was being sent back to, Shanghai aboard the President Jack san on Friday. Until his departure. he would sak for his committal to the House of Detention.
