ENGLAND WINS
WEST INDIES GO DOWN FIGHTING
London, August 15. England beat the West Indies by an innings and 17 in the Third Tust and have thus won the rubber.
So badly did the tourists fare that they were 99 runs behind with only, two wickets in hand when playing was resumed to-day.
The sky was overcast and the wicket showed no signs of wear when play was resumed, in the pre- sence of barely 100 people.
Achong and Martindale, the over
night not outs, restined the West fudies innings but the former had mot added to his score when he was caught by Ames off Marriott 105/8. The end soon came for Griffith, the last man n was caught and bowled by Marriott for a duck, thus leaving England winners by the comfortable margin
of an innings and 17 runs.

Among the entries there were three new teams, the Young In dians, the R.A.M.C, and the East 'Lancashire Regiment which is at present in Shanghai.
The teams in the first division remained as belpra, the only addi- tion being the East Lancashire Regiment.
Only ten teams entered the see- ond Division as compared with twelve last year, the absentees be- ing St. Joseph's, Tsung Isin, East- era and Ewo. With regard to the last named, although they have not yet signised their intention of joining, it is more than probable that they would do so, as they are affiliated to the Hongkong Football Association.
However, two new teams have entered this division-the Young Indians and the East Lancashire Regiment.
In the third division, two old teams did not rejoin while two new teams entered. The old tens were St. Joseph's and the Taikoo who were at the bottom of the league last year, while the new teams are the "R.A.M.C. and the East Lancashire.
