REALLY ** PENITENT"
The truth is, Gandhi does not seem to mind being locked up at Yeravda, where he has been a pri vileged prisoner in the past.
When he was serving his last term Gandhi was considered a class A prisoner, and thus had many more privileges than the less fortunate political prisoners ranked as B. or C.
Except for restrictions on his vis- itors, Gandhi was able to follow almost his normal life, early ris- ing, frugal meals, reading, spin ning, sewing and writing,

Gandhi's faithful secretary.
He got up punctually at 4 a.m., from an iron bed, covered with a mattress, with books as a pillow.
Prayers, with Patel and" Desai, were said for the first 20 minutes after rising. Then Gandhi wrote letters to friends in his Sabarman Ashram, mostly children, whom he counselled to spin regularly.
