Today Pat Hughes and Fred Perry meet G. M. Lote and John Van Ryn in the doubles match-and all indications point to a British triumph.

Fine Valleying. Allison was inclized to over-hit, and "Perry, volleying superbly, easily took the first set at 6-1 after, only 10 minutes.

Plan For Higher Wages

SEQUEL TO IMPORTANT CONFERENCE

WASHINGTON, July 10. A plan to bring all industry into agreement on higher wages and shorter hours was announced to day following a conference between President Franklin D. Roosevelt and General Hugh Johnson, na- tional industrial recovery ad- ministration director:

PARIN, July 25. THE present system of qualifying rounds in the European Zone of the Davis Cup contest is to be maintained.
