Arriving shortly after midnight, TERMS-Cash on DelivET. they went at once to the ballroom." After dancing, the Prince of Wales Bat out on the covered lawn for some time chatting with friends.
In view of a golf engagement, in the morning he cut short his visit and left at about one o'clock, bur Prince George remained consider- ably longer in the ballroom..
The ballroom, with its green and white hangings relieved by banks of flowers, by midnight was a dazzl ing melange of colours, and the list revellers stayed until three.
Fairy-lampa and flood-lighting usurped the late moon's function and bathed the rose gardens and the lawns with a silver light which was, the perfect medium for re- vealing some of the most exquisite evening frocks that will be seen together in one place this year.
Perfect Weather. Given such perfect weather, Wentworth can provide the perfect atmosphere of a moonlight fete champetre, and many of the 900 guests strayed from the ballroom to wander over the grass and, ad- mire the coric brilliance of the floodlit swimming-pool.
