An Excellent Programme
THE CHIN LOO CO. IN
GREAT FORM-
The Chin Loo Company of Chinese magicians, jugglers and scrobats gave an excellent perform ance at the King's that night. Three points denervis especial com- mendation: The burus followed one another without any pause; no turn went on too long, and the show- manship of Chin Loo was admir able."
The acrobats give perhaps the most amazing performance, and yet when one remembers the juggling it is hard indeed to give the palm fairly. Mr. Chin Loo himself pro-
duced a bewildering number of bowls full of water from under his robe--but he does it with such
smiling case and assurance that it is hard to believe that it can be difficult at all.
The whole, performance is a riot of colour and movement, carried out in the highest spirits. It is enjoyable from start to finish," bus to see it once is not enough, for the noise, the colour and the rapid movement make it impossible to carry away more than a dazzling dramatic picture, which shifts and whirls as one tries to remember any detail.
You do not have to he unsophis- tiented and easily pleased to enjoy Chin Lao and Company, in fact it you can watch their performance and not enjoy it you do not deservo entertainment at all.

FINE FILM OF THE TROPICS.
"The Painted Woman" is very much a creature of "somewhere
the worst." Much poetic licence has been taken with the name of Singapore, where the opening scene is athgod, but any tropical place' with a romantic name would do as well. The story moves well, and is full of primitive violence; the men, are brutes, Spencer Tracy is quite an attractive brute, and, setting them aflame, is the exotic and innocent, but still a long way sophisticated Peggy Shannon, ne better than the men.
