Future Trade..
As regards future trade with old markets, Japanese spinners are na- turally pessimistic, though they ex- pect some extra trade in Manchu kuo and the South Seas. The Sino- Japanese truce has provided a pay- chological stimulus, but so far there hae not been any real increase in trade. The recent tariff increases
evidently randers new business prohibitive. Furthermore, Shang- hai goods are much cheaper than those produced in Japan, and buyers in Tientsin and other towns in North China will naturally, go to Shanghai. Japanese traders hopt 127,68 that the Government will induce the Chinese Government to effect a reduction in the new tariff.

Asia Lande, Limited, has received the following report from their Now York correspondents, E. A. Pierce & Co. There is little change today and a further period of irregularity, with no more than stabilisation around the present levels, is at present indicated. Buying power seems content to hold to order limits at, or under, the market. Wheat:
There was a sharp brosk after the news of the Process Tax, which reduces the acreage, starting from 1934, by 20 per cent, if necessary. The market rallied later on bullish North West crop news and the technical posi- tion is considered to have improved. Cotton: A definite décision on the process tax has been postponed until next week. On the probability that it will be around four beats, there was fairly heavy professional selling. Silver: This market has been under pressure from professional operators and Trade selling Commission houses absorbed the offerings. Business Done: 1,570,000 shares.
