RACES AT MACAO
BAD WEATHER SPOILS GOOD DAY'S PROGRAMME: SEVERAL KEEN. FINISHES
PETER YOUNG AND CARROLL SHARE
HONOURS IN NOVICE EVENTS
(By "MORNING DEW.").
The weather was at its most uncompromising behaviour yester. day at Macao when the fifth extra race meeting of the Macao Jockey Club was held." There was a fairly large attendance due to the fact that this was the last race meeting for three months, but the incessant rain during the afternoon somewhat dampened the ea thusiasm of those who attended,
Miss Alabaster proved herself a very capable jockey by winning both the ladies races. Her win on White Butterfly was especially good, and was in no small measure due to her excellent riding.
The Machine Gun Troop races were won, respectively, by Mr. Č, P. Ferguson and Mr. A.' H. Potts, "
Mr. Peter Young and Mr. R. A. Carroll each had a win and a place in the novice events, while Mr. S. Y. Laing rode Partner ship to victory in the race for "D" class candidatos.
