Race 1. Just Imagine.

Meeting to-morrow, the first race being time for 2 p.m. This is the Race 1. Pure Music. last meeting of the first half of the racing senson and should attract a good attendance. There are seven' races on the card, four of which are unofficial ones, while of the re- maining three, two are for novices, and therefore it looks very much as if those making the trip will find it hard to "spot winners.. Dividends ought to be very tempt- ing, and, like the recent race meet- ing at Happy Valley, there may be some 'very welcome surprise packeta for lucky punters.

The programme opens with a five furlongs sprint for the ladies, Mr. Woo Lai Tin having very kindly presented a cup for the race. The event has drawn seven entries and it is quite likely that all of them will go to the post. On paper it looks as if Pure Music is most likely to win bare with So On and Jingo prominently in the picture | at the finish.

On looking over the handicaps for this race over five furlongs for "E" Class ponies to be ridden by novices, it strikes me as if Just Imagine at 161 pounds is not likely to be very far away at the finish. Esk has been given' 169 pounds and can be tucked away out of all cal- culations. The Loafer is a handy. one to follow and may bring off a surprise, so look out for him 1 Krata Viz at 181 pounds seems a bit on the heavy side, but in spite of that should be among the placed ponies Lucky Star is a good out- sider here. A cup has been pre- sented by Mr. J. G. Simpson for the winning jockey in this race.

Machine Gun Bcurry.

Boston looks very good to me in this race over half a mile and if he does not win, is almost certain of being placed. For the rest it.is difficult to make any prediction. Much will depend on the start, but if the odds are long enough, The Cirlew, The Goods and White Label may prove to be worth following.

Three others received a few months imprisonment each and the State Prosecutor did not press for heavy sentences as no politics were introduced in the case,

It will be remembered that the couple, on April 6, last, were shot out of hand, while Rotter'a brother, Fritz and a woman, Frau Wolf, were injured in leaping from: a car in which nine armed men were attempting to kidnap them and carry them into Germany.

The car

was stopped by the police in Tyrol and the occupants were arrested,

The Rotter brothers were at one time leading theatre managers in Berlin, but they got into financial difficulties and fed to Leichtenstein in 1991.]
