The report of the General Post Office, Hong Kong, for the year 1832 states that a service from Hong Kong providing air transit from Saigon to Europe and intermediate countries was opened on August 2. The air mail service from Saigon is weekly. The Hong Kong-Saigon connection is maintained by the regular fortnightly sailing of the French Mail steamers and on alter nate weeks by any steamer that can make the connection at Saigon. The average time of transit Hong Kong to Great Britain is 15 days
