S. CHINA. NAVY

On their own ground, South' China, potential champions, list to the Royal Navy by three goals to one.

From the start the Navy showed up very well, their rushing tactics being most effective..

After about ten minutes play the sailors opened their scoring through a penalty. Emsworth, the Naval centre, forward was prepar ing to pass when Lau Mau unfair- ly tackled him. The same player took the spot kick and coverted with a well placed shot.

Shortly afterwards, the Chinest equalised through Leung Tat Wing who, from a los pass by Len In Chan at right balf, headed the ball into the Navy's goal. Five minutes later the Chinese had an opportunity to gain the lead but Kam Cheung Lam shot wide though no one was marking him.

After the interval the Chinese at tacked and Leung Tit Wing had hard luck in not scoring when his shot struck the cross-bar with the goalkeeper well beaten. They con- tinued to attack for about ten 27 minutes, and the Navy goalkeeper

made several brilliant" saves,

Play then transferred and the Navy forced a corner. From the place kick the ball was cleared to Purkina, who, after beating an opponent, sent over a perfect cen tre for Bayer to head past the Chinese goalkeeper.

At this stage the sailors were having the better of the exchanges, and shortly afterwards increased their lead. Goose, obtaining pos session, ran out to the wing and centred.
