HONG KONG STOCK MARKET
WEEKLY REPORT
In the investment section rates kept stends throughout the pasi week, and, where changed, were slightly marked up, although, ow ing to scarcity of efferings, the hasiness put through was on the peor side.
The lower priced issues were rather negiccted, except in the $1,340 vase of Chinn Lights, which com manded a ready market during the period under review.
The outstanding feature of the week. however, was the sharp up- turn-made by Benguet Consolidat. eds and Benguet Explorations, the former advancing from 320 to $233, and the latter from 30 cents to cents.

Asia Zanda, Kimited, has received the following report from their New York correspondents, E A. Pierce & Co. In view of circumstances and the tremendous pece of the advance the market seted exceptionally well, the large amount of profit-taking boing strongly absorbed. The late rise in utilities may foreshadow a similar demonstration in rails and we would watch the rail group carefully for trading purposes. Wheat and cotton opened strong but reacted slightly on heavy prost- taking. Silver closed at the three-cent limit with a heavy volume of business done. The immediate trend seems to depend on inflationary belief.
