RUGBY FOOTBALL

Scotland, 8; Ireland, 6.

LONDON, Apr. 1.

To-day Scotland won the Triple Crown by beating Ireland by two dropped goals (2 points) to 2 tries (e points). Murray kicked off for Ireland against a strong breece Rowand's kick was charged down, and the Irish were over the line in the first minute, but were recalled. However, disaster for Scotland was not long deferred, Ireland heeling for Coote to make ground and sling out a long overhead pass to Light- foot. The wing caught by Brown, passed in to Crowe near the line and the centre scored. Murray's kick went wide, but Ireland were three points up within 6 minutes, just before half time, Jackson gave Scotland the lead with a coolly judged drop goal.
