(Special Air-Mail Service)
Munich, March 21.-"If a single shot is fired at Chancellor Adolph amaEsaera Hitler, there will be and-a pogrom in Germany such as the world has never seen before.
These were the ominous words used at a conference of newspapers representatives to-day by Captain Himmler, the newly-appointed Hir lerite Police-President of Munich, when he told an extraordinary story of a newly-discovered plot to
Assassinate Hitler.
Captain Himmler, before his ag pointment as Police-President, was chief of the S.S. Storm Troops, who are the corps d'elite whose special duties are to defend the life of Hitler.
Captain Himmler said that ear- lier to-day three members of the Choka (the former Russian secret
police), two of whom "spoke only Russian while the third spoke Gor an, were seen lying in wait for Hitler, at the Richard Wagner Monument in Munich. This monu- ment is near Hitler's private 're- sidence and on the direct route which he would take to reach the aerodrome from his fat.
It is presumed that the three men intended to attack the Chan- cellor as he was driving to the aerodrome to day. When, however, they noticed that they had been seen and overheard, the three men jumped into a waiting motorcar,
which bore a Berlin number, and raced off.

Captain Himmler says that the Manich police, received information from Switzerland that "members of the Cheka" were preparing to as- sassinate Hitler and other Naz loaders.
