EDINBURGH, March 7th. The members of the Scottish Eight, who won the Elcho Shield at the Bisley Rifle Meeting last year, are to be the guests of Lord Provost W. J. Thomson, and Mrs. Thomson at a luncheon in the City Chambers, Edinburgh. The Elcho Shield is oné of the most coveted of Scottish awards at Bisley, and is the only rifle team trophy of the meeting. Last year's win" was the third in succession for Scotland. That success gave Scotland 19 wins'in the history of the event as against 34 by England and 14 by Ireland, but in the post-war matches Scotland have now eight successes as against England's six.

Glasgow Bribe Allegation,

It is expected that Sir Godfrey Collins, Becretary of State for Scot- land, will in the House of Commons announce the appointment of a judicial inquiry into certain. alioga tions of bribery in Glasgow. The inquiry has been requested by the Glasgow Corporation."
