The losers failed to maintain their excellent standard, and gave pro bably their worst display this sea- son. On the other hand the Club de Recreio played far more con- structive game and fully earned their victory.

The Recreio attacked throughout in the first half, and just before the interval, A. Alves scored a good -goal-for-them-after-snapping-up- a wank clearance by Miss Oven- Hughes.

LEAGUE LEADERS AGAIN BEATEN BY. THE LINCOLNS

ST. JOSEPH'S LOST TO BORDERERS IN SENIOR SHIELD

The Royal Artillery, the League Leaders again lost to the Lin- colas by three goals to two, and as a result, have considerably, lessened their chances of winning the Championship. South China beat the Hongkong Football Club rather easily by four goods to ail, whilo Kowloon lost to the Royal Navy by three goals to one.

In the only Senior Shield match, played at Sookunpoo between thus Borderers and St. Joseph's, the former won by six goals to three.

The Junior champions, the Chines Athletic were surprisingly and easily beaten by the runners-up, the Borderers at Sookunpoo, but the biggest upset of the day was in the Third Division when the Chinese Athletics beat the Lincolne by the odd goal in seven.

Greatly handicapped by the absence of their interport forward, A. V. GOBEDO, the St. Joseph's were beaten by the Borderers by six goals to three in their 'match' as Sookunpoo.

The

soldiers were surperior throughout, and at one time had a lead of five clear goals. The Saints' defence was wosk, and had it not been for the goalkeeper, Marques, they might have lost by a bigger innrgin. For the greater part of the game, they had only ten

men. on

the field, Sabban, their left winger, having developed cramp in the earlier stages. Omar, a third division player, took the place of A. V. Gosaño and proved worthy substitute, displaying clever ball control.

The game started with the Bor- derers attacking, and although the ball was always in their opponents' half, they could not-manage to score until after thirty minutes' play, when Duncan gave them the lead with a nice crom shot. Shortly afterwards. Davis increased their lead from a nice centre by Duncan.

After the interval, the Borderers continued to press, and Fortey soon scored the third goal with a nice header. The same player added
