started his musical career in Singapore, where ho play ed for the Municipal Orchestra and assisted at various concerts in the Straits. Later he went to Shanghai and was one of the pioneers, who delighted the few listeners-in with concerts broadcast from the one and only radio station then in existence in that city. From Shanghai the ambitions young musician went to Canada in search of fame and fortune, and was soon sought for by radio syndientes and, by the managers of concert halls, and, to judge from reports published in the "Canadian newspapers, it was not long before he was the idol of audi- ences and listeners-in in the nearly every large city in that Dominion.
