NEW MOTOR VESSEL FOR THE
BLUE FUNNEL LINE.
The new motor vessel Gorgon, which is being built by the Caledon Company of Dundee for the Straits- Java-Western Australia service, will probably be in service in Oc- tober this year. She will be operat- ed by the Blue Funnel and Western Australian Steam Navigation Com- pany.
Of 3,200 tons gross, she will be 330 feet long with beam of 51 feet. In view of the rapid develop- ment of the export trade in fruit and other chilled produce from West Australia, the how vessel will, haye extensive insulated chamber with a total capacity of about 470 tons.
The first class state-rooms will be situated amidshipa and will accom- modate 84 passengers, the second class accommodation being at the after end of the shelter-deck: The public rooms will consist of a dining| saloon, smoking-room and lounge.
