Nanking, February 7.-The Gov. ernment has taken official cogniz ance of talk in Nanking and Shang- hai of an impending anti-Britishi Boycott by warning vernacular newspapers to refrain froin foment- ing such a movement

There is absolutely no ground in the rumour the Foreign Ofice spokesman said to-day. Buch te tion, he pointed out, would be the extreme óf folly and could lead but to disaster.

The talk, he said, has been traced to an editorial which appeared a few days ago in a Shanghai Chi} nese daily. This was purely ide talk by a small newspaper which found its way to Geneva, evidently through a Japanese medium, in an affort to discredit China with the League of Nations"-United Press.
