CLUB BEATEN BY THE

I. R. C.

'HAT TRICK" BY F..D. PEREIRA

GOOD DAY FOR THE BOWLERS

CLIE ON THE CLUE" THE I.R.C. DEFEATED THE

WICKETS, IT WAS A GROUND' BY THREE REMARKABLE GAME, THE BOWLERS HAVING THINGS ALL THEIR OWN WAY, FROM FIRST TO LAST. F. D. PEREIRA HAD THE SATISFACTION OF DOING THE HAT TRICK, HIS THREE VICTIMS BEING T. A. PEARCE, HIS FINAL AT K. MUNRO AND O. E. C. MARTON. FIGURES WERE S FOR 13.

At one time it looked as if the I.R.O. would fail to pass the Club's meagre 47, Bock, who took 5 wickets for 14 being in great form. However, Madar made a patient 15-worth many a century under easy conditions and the Home riders' total was passed with three wickets in hand.

Kowloon 0.0, visiting Happy Valley, nearly lost their match with the Olvil Servants: Set 101 to get to win they had geven men out for 61 runa. Then F. 8. W. Smith and G. C. Burnett in con- "· Junction with E. C. Fincher, pulled the game out of the fire. E. W. Hamilton. took 6 K.0.0, wickets for 12 ans,

The Univeralty, playing at King's Park, easily beat the Navy, The latter collapsed before Gosano (1 for 8), and A. T. Foman- bhoy (8 for 10), and the University then proceeded to make 63 for one wicket, D. J. N. Anderson being again in form.

POLICE BEAT NEW NAVY TEAM

RADIO AVENGE DEFEAT: BORDERERS

BEAT TSUNG TSIN 11-0

No less than thirteen League matches were played on Satur- day, and in most of these results were as expected," The surprises wore the defeat of the Navy at the hands of the Police in the first Division, while, sa forecasted in our columns on Saturday, Radio avenged their defeat earlier in the season, by accounting for St. "Joseph's, one time leaders of the Third Division, by two goala to nil. As a result of this defeat, the Saints have now very little chance of winning the Championship; against the Borderere and the, Lincolns,

The highest score registered was in the match between the derers and Tenng Tsin in the second division, when the former scored eleven goals without reply.

The game was uninteresting, and the Navy only fielded ten men for the majority of the first half. · The forwards, on both sides were poor, shooting wildly and missing many oppor-. tunities.

The Police were the first to at- tack, and a goal by Johnson wa disallowed owing to a foul against him, for rushing at the goalkeeper.

The Navy rallied, and Fisher had hard luck in not scoring his shot (Continued on Page 11,7
