The display of the Interport team was not so satisfactory and there are sure to be several changes. The defence was quite good, particularly Allan, and if he keeps on the forni which he displayed yesterday is a certainty for the Interport. Fardae, at centre half, although always a hard worker, miskicked badly on several occasions and so did Strange at left back. In the forward line the Gono brothers played up to their usual standard, but Hill at centre forward was completely off form and was slow and erratic in bis movements. As a matter of fset had A. V. Gomno got a better partner, the Interport side would have won by a bigger margin.
On the other hand, it must be said that the Borderers played up better than expected, and had they mrdo full use of the opportunities offered in the first half might have won the match. Their forwards missed no less than three open goals,
The Game.
The game started with the Inter porters attacking, but being re- pulsed by Mullane. Play was most. ly in midfield until A. V. Gosano opened this scoring, after twenty misates play, with a low cross shot from a nice pass by Santos
Shortly afterwards, the Borderers nearly equalised, but Harris missed badly with no one to mark him. The aime player was later respon sible for missing another open goal.
After the interval, the ball was always in the Borderers". balf but the Interporters could not increase their load. A. V. Gozano tried hard and came very near on several ecossions. Taking a free kick by Pardue, A. V. Gosano missed an open goal, sending in a weak shot. Shortly afterwards, with the Border ars' goalkeeper out of position, he shot atraight at the goal but Mul-] lane stopped it just in time.
The soldiers then carried out a brief attack but Allan cleared splendidly.
The Interport team was as fol- lows: Rodger: Allan and - S. Strange: Leung Wing Chiu, Pardoc, and A. Duncan; B. Gosano, A, Y. Gosano, E. Strange, Hill and F. Santon.
