By the means of medical and surgical treatment, which had been provided for over 1,000,000 children during the past year, hundreds of thousands of children had beea eled or relieved, and had ber able to return to school.
It was pointed out that the only sound organization would seem to be otio on imperial lines. A cen trai map drawing and reproduction department would be served by few specially constructed aircraft, which could be flown to different parts of the Empire to make the fullest ure of favourable weather conditions,

The South-west Political Coun- cil hava prepared plans for the construction of a railway from Changmukwan to Chinchow, some 300 miles.
The route selected will be through the Manpat and Chang- chow mountains, and there will be a few bridges.
Passengers from Canton to Chiu- chow will then be able to avail themselves by rail connection nt Shek ug on the Canton-Kowloon Railway.
Total sales of British rayon yarn have increased from 41,883,000 lbs. for: the first ten months bf 1931 to over" 57,500,000 lbs, up to the end of October this year. The October figure of just over 8,000,000 lbs. is the highest reached since April.

Many producers who would have been forced out of business if demand had not picked up have taken the put upon the market, with the opportunity to throw new out- result that even the substantial im provement in sales has been over- topped by production, and stocks are actually increased.
A comparison of the output, and i sales figures shows that whereas in the first ten months of 1991 stocks were reduced by roughly 1,000,000 Ibs., they have been increased this year by the same amount,
