SIR WILLIAM SHENTON

The Hon. Mr. W. E: L. Shouton, who now becomes Sir William Shenton, has taken a big part in the life of the Colony into his ar rival here in 1008, and we hrs glad to soo that his career of usefulness has boon-recognised in the New Year Honours,

Sir William Shenton is the son of William Shenton, solicitor of Winchester, England, and was odu-, cated at Eastman's Royal Naval Academy, North Wood Park, near Winchester, and at Herdelberg, Germany. He decided early that he wished to make the law his pro fession, and took, honours on both the Intermediary and Final Law! Examinations.

He married Erica, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. Donison, and has one daughter, Yvonne, and son, David. Miss Shenton is one of the most popular members of Hong Kong's young society, and Lady Shenton has found time for an amount of useful public work be side her many social duties,

DEATH OF MR. F. E. PINNA The death of Mr. Firmishe Felix de Pinna (Nano) occurred at his house, 21 Jordan Road, Kow. loon, on Saturday afternoon at the age of 85 years.
