The truth about

the Whisky situation

We believe you will be interested to see the following cutting from "The Glasgow Herald" of the 8th September which, in our opinion, explains very briefly the actual position of the Scotch Whisky Trade to-pay.

We have advertised for some time that WHITE HORSE is older and better than it has ever been in the history of the Company and this statement we again

repeat, and add to it the assurance that WHITE HORSE will remain up to

its high standard of age and quality. Good as WHITE HORSE has been in the past, it is better than ever to-day, and this improvement will continue because of the enormous stocks which we have at our disposal and which will go on maturing until such time as they are. required.

SCOTTISH DISTILLERIES

The statement that the distilleries in Scot land do not intend to open this season has aroused considerable discussion. Inquiries amongst some of the leading distillers and whisky brokers has

information elicited the following

Consumers will not be affected at all. Whisky drinkers are now getting, and will continue to get, even finer whiskies than to they did in pre-war days. Stocks accumu lated in bond are getting better and better, and many of the Highland malt whiskies going into the proprietary blends to-day are the equivalent of fine liqueurs. It is the general opinion in the trade that the Govern ment cannot continue a tax that so tyrannously stands between the public and what it wants, and which at the present time actually depletes the revenue. There public will continue to regard 1s feeling of confidence that the dis the safest and best drink in any criminati whisky as
