Thi Steam aunch Company. The Many local concerns would wel-fak presented the bill and was come some form of protection for told it was a forgery. The Police similar reasons as those put for were notified and the Joti was taken

tů Central Police Station, ward for the Green Island Cement Company. :

I personally have been engaged in the food business in this Colony for many years" and have had to compete against large quantities of food stuffs brought here from sour ces outside the Colony and the Bri- tigh Empire.

It is suggested that our Govern ment should make Contractors use a portion of the Green Island Cement in their work. I personal ly would be very grateful to our Government if they would make people eat a certain portion of locally produced or Empire pro- duele daily.

The form of competition com- plained of has been going on for many years and if the Green Ta land Cement Company has escaped until recently it has indeed very fortante.

The Government must treat us all alike in this matter or let those concerns find ways and means to combat these conditions na Lan- cashire is now doing under vimilar circumstances. TER

It is sad to realize that our local industries are being badly hit by foreign competition, we must how ever be fair to all concerned.

FAIRNESS.
