KOWLOON C. C. DEFEAT
HONG KONG C.C.
IRG WIN IN BOTH LEAGUES
SEVERAL CENTURIES RECORDED
The Indian R.C., champions of both Cricket Leagues, regia- tered the "double against the Royal Navy, on Saturday, Kow- loop bont Hong Kong in the premier league and drew in the junior division, while Craigengower beat the Service Corps.
In the Senior League, Kowloon Cricket Club's defeat of the strong Hong Kong C.C. provided a thrilling match at King's Park. Bowling at the top of their form the K.C.C. bowlers kept the visiting bateman very subdued, and dismissed them for a total of 130 runs. Things looked rather blue for the home team, however, when G.RM. Rickette immediately dropped onto length and had E.C.C's first three batanen out for 11 runs, but the following batsmen filled the broach ahly, and in a thrilling race against the clock, obtained the required runs in the last over of the day, I. McInnes (47), and W. C. Hung (21) being chiefly re- sponsible.
1
TA. Pearce, the newcomer to Colony cricket was dismissed early in the Club's innings, but he should make a lot of runa as the season progresses.
The I.R.C. versus Navy match proved a triumph for the re- doubtable major league Indian bowlers Pereira and Minu, who, in addition to dismissing the Navy batamen for 50 runs, knocked up 30 runs and 68 runs respectively to win the game by 7 wickets. Pereira bowled magnificently in capturing 7 wickets for 29 runs.
The feature of the junior league games was the bright bat ting of N. B. Kitchell who knocked up 103 not out against the R.E. and Signals to give his side victory by 8 wickets. R. Sour- butts also bowled well for his 6 for 30.
Two centuries were registered in the friendly gunes, D.J.N. Andorton scoring 198 for the University against the Army and. J. E. Richardson 195 retired for the P.W.D, against the Sanitary Department.

a mistake for she seemed over powered under full canvas and was out distanced by Colleen. WA good start was made in the 4" and "Y" claes Daphine and Boojum fetching first round Channel Rocks followed by Speedwell and Why Wonder The position rc-Isobel (Dr. L
J. Davis) mained unchanged until Rumsey Shoal was rounded and the boats Carpenter (Mr. started to best once more to Chah- nol Rocks. Why Wondert and Boojum worked the Kowloon Shure in order to cheat the flooding tide. Boojum, however, held on too far and lost the strong and steady wind thus losing her place to Speedwell and Why Wonder1 at Channel Bocks,
Speedwell had come on well and was lying scoond to Daphne at this mark followed by Why Wonder? Bluejacket and Ailsa On the run

ing line. This finishing times show
how keenly contested was this race
for five boats finished with hardly
a minute between them.
72 Changing Tortunes in Anker Class. In the Anker class 5th champion- ship Jan lead round the first 'mark followed by La Linda and "Isobel. On the run to Kowloon Rock thie. leading boats were caught by the remainder. La Linda was first round Kowloon Book with Cicade next. Thence the boats sailed on A broad reach to Kowloon Paint where Spinnakers were 'got out to port and course altered to ran for Ramsey Shoal. Jan came up pa this leg and Rumsey Shoal was rounded first by La Linda with Jan second and Cienda third.
Thence the best to Channel Rocks completely changed the order of pre- cedence the leading boate with the exception of Jan all losing places. Jan rounded Channel Rocks first followed by Wasp III. and Isobel with Jos lying nearly last: This order was maintained until the end. The strong breze suited, the Anker boats well and this proved an excellent race with seconds only between most of the competitors at the Anish The boats seem to be shaking down to proper form with very little to choose between them; Any advantage in the racing depend- ing on the helmsman and the ad justment of the sails,
