BOWLERS RETURN. GOOD FIGURES
Kowloon Cricket Club could only manage a draw against 4 weak Navy side in their Senior League engagement at the Nary ground on Saturday. K.0.0. opened disastrously, the first 5 wickets falling for 18 runs, but McInnes (52), Burnett (11), and Smith: (24) managed to pull the game around to a more favourable position by helping to bring the score up to. 155, Lieut. Marsham batted splendidly for the Navy, compiling 45 out of 100 runs in quick time. He received poor support, except from Shpt. MeWillam who put together 20 runs,
At the close of play the Navy were 45 runs in arrears with 4 wickets in hand. The drawing of this match with the Navy might seriously jeopardise K.0.0.'s chances of annexing the league cham picnship,
K.0.0.'s second eleven also drew with the Navy, who at the close of play, only required 32 runs to win. with wickets in hand The feature of the match was the good form displayed by 0. I. Stapleton, the ex-Interporter, who has recently returned to the K.0.0, after an absence of ten years.
Gorpi, Meehan put up a brillant all round performance for the Engineers against the Civil Service juniors by taking 6 for 58, and scoring 54. The Engineers, however, lost by 2 wickets,
The Club Trial unearthed a very useful slow bowler in J. Ricketts, the 1930 Oxford University soccer goalkeeper. Playing for ** Tom Hayward's XI, he claimed 7 for 11 to dismiss Alan Reid's XI. for 22 after the opening partnership had realized 14,

TENNIS SENSATION IN AUSTRALIA
[THROUGH REUTER'S AGENCY.]
MELBOURNE, Dec. 10 JACK CRAWFORD, Australia's No. 1 ranking tennis player, caused a first-class tennis sensa tion here to-day when he defeated Ellsworth Vines, the American ace, by scores of 1-8, 6-4, 6-4, 7-6, 6-4 to win the Victorian Championship.
The American returned many easy shots into the not, but Craw- ford excelled in the way he drew Vines to the net to pass him time and again with dazzling strokes
This is Crawford's first win over Vines, the latter having a straight sets victory at Wimbledon to his erodit and a four sets win in the 49 first Test between America and. Australia. Crawford reached to- day's Final by defeating Harry Pan. Pis Hopman while Vines eliminated C.
Sproule.

BORDERERS GO UNDER IN FIRST DIVISION
NAVY XI: SURPRISES LEAGUE LEADERS ATHLETICS ALSO HEAVILY DEFEATED
The outstanding feature of Baturday's games was the defeat of the South Wales Horderers in the first division by the Wavy by three goals to one. Rikerto the Borderers had been in the leading position in the league table, for though the R.At were a point ahead. of them, the Borderers had a game in hand. By their defeat on Saturday, they dropped two valuable points, which may ultimately. decide the destination of the shield.
The Police and the Club put up a good game and the points want to the latter who scored two goals to the Police's one. The Chinese Athletic, playing Kowloon were severely trounced and "were sent home with a defeat of five clear goals.
In the second division, the Athletics are in a strong position, as their success over the Borderers now plates them in the leading position on the league table, In the third division, the Lincolns are leading.
