CEMENT WORKS IN CANTON

OUTPUT STILL SHORT OF

DEMAND.

Canton.-Previous to the estab fishment of the Sales Department of the Honam and Saichuen Gov- ernment Cement Works, the com- bined output of the two works totalled 1.300 barrels valued ap proximately at $270,000.

Since the establishment of the Sales Department in last August, the combined daily output has been been increasing rapidly until now the combined daily output is in the neighbourhood of 8500,000.

The Saichuen Cement Works, working at full capacity, produces 1,200 barrels per day, The Henam Cement Works produces approxi- mately 400 barrels.

The Sales Department, as a con- sequence of the excess of demand over supply of its product, is tak- ing steps to limit the distribution.
