Although at one time the typhoon threatened to spoil the week- end, the Clock of the Weather" played the game with mee- goers yesterday and allowed the opening meeting of the Fanling Club to be held in exellent weather. At one stage rain threatened La spoil a fine altanoon's programme, but fortunately it held off.

The til bit of the afternoon's racing, of course, was the Laulien Mile, and this, as generally anticipated, went to Mrs. Front wito rode The Crook. Mrs. Frost id excellent judgment on her mount and came in romfortably in the straight. Miss Farr rode an excellent rnee on Estrellita to finish second while Miss P. The Interport Practise Competi- tion which was held at Kowfood Tong yesterday and on Saturday has proved a great success, and has brought out many "dark horses."

The Typhoon Signal on Saturday was responsible for a small attend- ance in the afternoon and though the light was good, wind hampared steluly shooting.

Yesterday morning 18 competitors arrived on the Kowloon Tong.Range, of which four were representatives from the 1st Bn. Lincolns and six from the Royal Marines, all of whom werd' shooting on this range for tim first time.
