BIG THRILL FOR PUNTERS TO-DAY

CAN LIBERTY BAY STOP BAG AND BAGGAGE FROM WINNING THE AGGREGATES?

NEW MILE RECORD LIKELY: SOME SELECTIONS

FOR PUNTERS

[BY MORNING,DEW,”]

Today, Liberty Bay, the Derby winner, and a warm favourite for the St. Leger which will be held on November 6, will give the public a glimpse of his form. It was fully seven months ago that Liberty Bay made his first appearance on the local course and since then ho has been sent up North, and punters will natural- ly be glad to see what this pony can do to-day in order to judge whether or not he can account for some of the other favourites for the Leger.

Bag and Baggaga will be Liberty Bay's chief obstacle. The mile in his distance and he can be fully expected to do that in well under two minutes. If he can be made to give of his best to lay, it appears as if Liberty Bay "will have to lower the mile re- cord of 1 minute 57.4 seconds held by Apollo, in order to win Can he do it?
