M.C.L. CROSS-WORD PUZZLE

COMPETITION.

A Borius of Cross-word puzzles, six in all. will appear in the South-Calna. Morning Post-and-the-Hong Kong Daily Press in July, August and September next.

They will be published once a fortnight starting on July 7th, ie., on July 7th and 21st, on August 4th and 18th, and on September 1st and 15th.

The entrance fee-will-be-85:- for the series.

A prize of 360 will be given to the competitor who solves all the puzzles correctly or with the fewest mistakes.

In the event of more than one competitor tying, the prize will be divided.

The balance of the entrance fees will go to the funds of the M.O.L.

Entrance fees which will be duly acknowledged must accompany the first solution sent ja.

The competition will be in the hands of a judge who will. enter into no correspondance concerning it and whose decision will bo final.

The correct solution of orch puzalo will bo published in the same issue of each paper as that in which the next puzzle of the s-ries appears.

Entrance foss and solutions are to be sent to "Judex," ca the Helena May Institute, Hong Kong, and envelopes must be marked "M.O.L.X Word" in the top left hand corner,

No competitor may sand in more than one solution of any puzzle. Every solution must reach the judge within 5 days of the publication of the puzzle.

"WOLF-MAN": AT WHIPSNADE.

FIRST ATTEMPT TO MEET

THE FAMILY FAILS.

An elderly-man-with-a-gray. beard, hatless, and wearing an old raincoat and flannel "bags," walk- ed among a pack of wolves at Whipsnade Zoo while a thousand people looked through the iron fenco and gasped.

With a squeal of delight the wolves rushed forward, wagging their bushy tails like giant dogs and leaping with joy, while the leader jumped into his arms and licked his face.

The man was Mr. D. S. Spens- Stewart, Fellow of the Zoological Society, and the only wolf-inan in London.
