Both Polar Star and Season Ticket, which finished first and second respectively were not well placed at the start. Just after passing the Rock, Sunlight bucked and Mr. Frost was almost thrown. y the time the jockey had righted himself, the rest of the field were many lengths in front, but Mr. Frost decided to try and make an effort to win, which needless to add was in vain. Had Sunlight not met with this necident, he would ourtainly have got a plaesi if not actually win.

Then Polar Star came along with a great big rush and at the Distance Post drew lovel with the leader, thereafter drawing away to win by three quarters of a length.
Had Season Ticket made the pace much faster in the earlier part of the race he might have set too big a tank for Polar Star in the run home. As it was Polar Star rolled out a quarber of 27 seconds.
