KWANTI RACES.

“A TWO-DAY NEW YEAR MEETING.

'NEW LADIES' COURSE.

BY HAWKEYE."] New Year's Day and Sunday, the 3rd January, will see Fanling's first two-day meeting which repre sents a fresh stage in the history of Kwan-ti. The entries for both days go to prove how popular this course has become and there is avory reason to believe that they will be two very successful days The Meting will be of particular interest ns this will be the fires occasion for the Fanting Subscrip. tion Griffins to show their paces. Amongst the races on the Art day will be the Hunters' Hurdle Race, always productive of a very big feld and a good race. On Sunday there will be the Ladion'. Race.. I previous years this race also has provided a large number of starters and keen interest. This, year will prova no exception na most of our ernck lady riders will be facing the Starter.

Good News for Lady Riders. While on the subject of our Indy riders. I have some good news for them. An addition has been made at Kwan-ti for their benefit. Pinns Have been drawn up for yet another course inside the other three. It is to be for the use of ladies and is intended as a place for them to en- joy a gallop without the fear of disturbing any training which may be in progress on the other tracks. 1 understand that it will be open shortly and inny be used at any time ing the week.

The Meeting opens with The Tyros Stakes, a Hurdle Race of N

make their own decision between Heliotrop Luf" and "Bronzo Eyes in the Yusoan Handicap. Both these punicy ran disappoint ingly at the Christmas Meeting, but "Bronze Eyes" has only to t they his form at his last outing as the Valley and "Heliotrope (Lea!" to run as well as ho did at the re cant Macao Meeting, o ako very close ence in this event. F rather fancy the chances of the lattor, Duke of Normandy 11" should follow on their heels for third" place.

יי

n

The Szechuan Handicap should produce a good race Between Fri tillery and Wis Stag" with the verdict, I think, going to the former. Brey Dawn" is in splen did fottle just now and bois capable of upsetting one's caloula- tions.

As regards tips for the Second Day; as the classification will not be published befors Saturday, it will not be easy to correctly name the Winners but alt, of the ponies mentioned above should all go very near winning or being plnend in Bury the ances in which they will com- Chesterfield pete There' is dip, doubt that the most popular rage of the afternoon Accrington will be the Ladies' Cup (Unofficial), Carlisle a fat race of Mile." I fancy the Darlington chances of Donnabella" very Gateshead much and he will be ridden by Southpart Miss Fearen The Gomeri" will be handled by Mrs. Frost and Airdrie should finish second with "African, Ayr Eve" under the pilotage of Miss Scott Harston, third. This is my view of the placings but I expect to see a well-contested race.

Ailes for Fanling Subscription Griffins. There are eight entries and I understand they will all face the Starter. "Herga" is reputed to have satisfied his connection and, in the capable hands of Mr. Char- les, should account. for this FUCEA Both "Black, Maria" and "Loch Ryan" have also done well in train- ing and will be there or there- abouts at the fish. Catex" is another animal that shews pro mjum.

Mr. Stanton'e Chances.

A good race should result be tween. Moyanagher " and "The Partridge" on the Shalin Handi- cap: Second Division. At the Christmas Meeting, "Movanagher" || had the legs of "The Partridge" but I think the placing will be rover- sed in this race, and jucidentally Mr. Stanton will commence his sequence of winning mounts. I like the chances of Big Ching" for the thiru' position.

Tom" with Mr. Stanton riding. should have a run-away victory in the New Year Hurdle Race of 14 miles "Monatana" and "Whit Henthor" should be in the placing. For the Shatin Handicap: First Division, Mr. Stanton will domin ute the field hore on Christmas Frolic," I think the accond position. whit be cupied by "Christmas Bella," while" Duke of Chantilly should be placed third."
