Folds were good and share were some thrilling finishes........ Mr, R. H. Charles stoerod in a rank outsider in Mount Elburz to win the fourth ruce and to pay a record dividend of $404 for a win und 8116 for a place. This was easily the biggest dividend' paid out on a pony in Marso.
Favourites came in quite frequently, but outsiders also had their any. Orlando walked away with the first race in convincing style, accounting for a big favourite in Daylight Evo. Imperial Hall, a hot favourite for the second race, only managed to win on the post to provide a really thrilling finish with The Gomeril.
The new Subscription Griffins of the Macao Jockey Club provod a very satisfactory lot and will no doubt £gure, prominently in the Club's programmes in future.
CASH SWEEP AND OTHER RESULTS.
Ohinking Handicap.
There were ten starters in the opening race over a mile and a quarter and Daylight Eve and Ataman were the public's choice. Orlando, however, upset all calcu, lations by leading all the way home. Daylight Eve made a big effort in the straight; bas Orlando had' too big a lead to be in danger and ultimately won by two lengths. Crown Prince was third.

Fanking Handicap. Imperial Hall Cloudy Eve, Tho
· Gomoril and Azalea Leaf were the
only starters in the second race, with the frat named well fancied to win. The Gomeril led over the first half mile after which Imperial Full tank the lead. Into the Hinnighs The Gomeril again led, but Imperial Hall was asked for a last effort over the last furlong and he managed to win by a short head. Cloudy Eve was third.
Wahu Plate.
The new. Maçao subs were tried out in this five furlongs ruce, and gave a good account of themselves. Mr. Caplan on Jingo won from Wiggle-Waggle ridden by Mr. Stan- ton. Mr. Frest on Genghis Khan. was third.
The first got away to a struggling start, several ponies refusing to gallop at dag full. However, Wiggle Waggle took the lend alter a quarter of a mile and was only passed just before the winning post was reached:
Kiukiang Handicap. There were thirteen ponies in the fourth race over one round of the course, and it provided a win for big utsider in Mount Elburz ridden by Mr. Charles, who was riding 23 pounds over the weight allotted by the handicapper.
Edenbridge and Yamoose led over the first part of the race, but Tango led into the straight. Mount Elbur joined issue with Tango at
the distance rest and won in the Brunswick last stride by a neck. Hull was third.
Mount Elburz paid $494 (or u win, and 8118 for a place. This is a record for Mucao.
Hankow Handicap.
Mr. Charles scored another win here on Sunning, accounting for a field of saves. There was not much in the race until the straight was reached when Sunning managed to stall off a belated challenge from Heliotrope Leaf. Bay of Bellingham keps in the van most of the way
and finished woll up being only, a head behind the second pony, which was only a head behind the winner.
Iohang Handicap.
Brown Eyes and Bunny Day got away well in front of a big field in the last race and the two kept. in front all the way tome. Brown Eyes responded well to Mr. Fung'u naking and managed to win. New King, the favourite, finished third after falling a victim to a bad start.
