Four Breathless Minutes. The famous pair, had hurried up the gangway four minutes before the ship was due to sail, und, fol- 18wed by the reporter intent on his interview, proceeded straight to their luxurious suite.
When they paused to unlock the door the reporter began to intro- dues himeslf, but was interrupted by Heifetz, who, with a murmured apology and a hasty remark about having some letters to post, dis appeared inside, to reappear a mo- ment later with the letters in his hand. "Can I post a letter in Hong " Kong with American, starps?" he asked, and, receiving a negative reply, proceeded in the direction of the ship's post office at the double, followed by tão re- porter, who pantingly asked him when he would be returning to

A Running Interview. The post office reached, Heifetz disappeared inside, leaving the r perter to gain his second wind, and to ruminate ga the agility of this versatile man.
In a few moments Heifetz emerg- ed from the dim interior of the post office, and remarking that ne. could obtain no stamps there dnsh. ed back the way he had come, with the reporter bringing up the rear. By the time Heifetz's cabin was again reached he had divulged that ho was going to India, Java and America, that he likod Hong Kong very much, that it was not his first. visit here and that he was very pleased with his audience on Satur day night.
A momentary pause outside Her- fetz's cabin door enabled the re porter, greatly ding, to remark that, for Heifetz to be greeted by an audience in Hong Kong great enough to fill the biggest theatre in the Colony was a remarkable tribute to his wonderful playing. This was acknowledged with a gracious, bow, and once more the great musician disappeared into the privacy of his cabin. A few seconds later he was out again, and evidently somewhat perturbed about the scarcity of Hong Kong postage stamps ou a American liner.
