According to this, the big dam, which closes off the Zuyder Zec, and Movember 5, for the drainage of the north western polder, will be completed at the end of 1932.

The cost of the big dam will be

about £14,000,000, and that of the reclamation of the north-western- one, about £8,300,0000~

These costs are considerably. higher than the value of the land when reclaimed,

In view of the present financial position of the country and the un- | certainly about the development of Dutch agriculture in the near fit ture, the Government consider it 7,200 desirable to suspend works for the reclamation of the two southern polders, and propose to continue in vestigations for the reclamation of the north-eastern polder.
