trix announced to-day that she has abandoned her plans to make a trans-Atlantic aeropland flight to Paris, at Icash for this year
Several weeks ago. Miss Nichola was injured when the plans crack ed up at St. Johns, after she had auoocssfully complated the first lap of her transocean flight from New York. She recovered and had plan- ned to take off this, wook on & Dow attempt but in view of the recent great loss of life in spectacular. attempts to conquer the air, above, the sens she has announced that her plans are abandoned.

Rainy River (Ont.), Canada- While on their way to rescue an airman whose machine had begn wrecked, four employees of the Ontario Torestry Department were killed through their machine plung ing into Rainy Lake, Ming*
They had been sent from Konora to search for the-airman in one of the large heroplanes belonging to the department The names of the victims are: Philip Hutton, of Toronto, the pilot; I. V. Grear, of Sault-Saint-Marie J. Stewart, District Forestry Department. chief and A. J. Runciman, of Stratford, Ontario, the assistant pilót.
