ANGLO-FRENCH FINANCIAL ATTEMPT TO BREAK POST
COLLABORATION.
{ThRovan akuten'S AGENCY.]"
LONDON, July 28
Nothing is known in London of the reported arrangement between the Bank of England and the Bank of France for a credit of message from £20,000,000, but a Paris now says that negotiations for Inancial collaboration between England and France assumed a more concrete form yesterday, at a series of conferences at the Bank of France between representatives of the Bank of England and leading French credit organisations.
The proposed tranenction is like that of 1907 and would consist chiefly of re-discounting English bills by French bänks with a guarë antee of the two banks of issue."
Thus credits on the English mar ket would be re-discounted on the French market, the transnation being arranged on a purely com- mercial basis without necessitating any intervention of 接 political nature. One of the immediate con- sequences of which is expected to be the resumption by the French market of the control. of French bills which would otherwise have| been discounted in England.
