"My duty as an examining jus tica under the. Indictable Offences Act, 1848, is to judge whether the evidence is sufficient to put the accused upon their trial, or raises a strong or probable presumption of guilt, or whether the ovidence presented by the prosecution dis eloses a prima facie caso against the accused.

"In my opinion the evidence does disclose a prima facie case against both upon all the charges respec- tively made against them, and, sub- ject to anything they may yet think fit to say. I think it is a case in which I can commit for trial."

Lord Kylsant and Mr. Morland temained talking to the clerk for a fow moments, and then left tha, court with friends.

The proceedings occupied twelve minutes.
