Chief interest was contred on the University-Recreio tie in the "B" division at Pokfulam and by coming out winners, the Portuguese inds have further enhanced their chances for cham- pionship honours.

Three ports will be represented at Shanghai in September, when. the interport, swimining comes off, The contestants will be. Shanghai, Hong Kong and Tioutsin. An in- vitation, was extonded to Kobe, but unfortunately, they were unable to send a team. The interport will be held in Shanghai at the bath of the Corcle Sportif Francals uns dor the rule of the Federation Internationalo De Natation and the contest has been fixed for September 10, 11, 19.

Regarding the conditions of the interport the following extraet from a letter received by the Hong Kong Amateur Swimming Associa tion is of interest :-

"All events to be open to service mon as well as civilians being bona fide residents or having re sidence of six months or over. Notts registered the biggest victory of the senson when they beat Kont by 300 runs at Trout Bridge. A feature of the match was that the winners only managed 190 in the first innings but mada a good recovery when they batted for the second time. The matol was set aside for the Whysull Benefit Fund and it in gidentally saw. Englund's fast bowler, Harry Larwood, in wonderful form with the ball; he took a wickets for 41 runs!

Warwickshire bent Glamorgan at Swansea while the Northamp- tonshire-New Zenlanders match resulted in a win for the latter. Bakewell, who is to play for England in the Test on Saturday, batted "magnificently in both innings, scoring 100 and 83 not out, respectively.
