SATURDAY'S ATTRACTION AT THE V.R.C.

[By FREE STYLE."

The outstanding feature of this year's aquatics in Hong Kong is the fact that there is going to be a team sont from the Colony to Shanghai in September to compoto for interport honours. Although there is still a gap of three months Lofore the team will snil from Houg Kong, there is much speculation as to the competitors who are like ly to be selected to represent the Colony. There is no doubt but that some of them will be training very hard in order to get into the in- terport side while others, even at this early date, are almost certain of inclusion. To those interested in the forthcoming interport and to those aspiring to a place in the team, the following notes should prove of interest.

The team will be going, I under stand, under the managership of Dr. D. Laing, who in his day was one of the best all-round swimmers in the Colony, having figured pro- minently in sprinting as well s in distance events. The Hong Kong team will be well-served by the presence of Dr. Laing as it is difficult to nominate any other per- an who is better suited for the work since he knows the rules of competitive swigung thoroughly, both from theoretical and from a practical point of view. Under his guidance, there is little doubt that the Hong Kong team will acquit themselves very well against Shang-games to be decided before thenings and 19 runs.
