MORNING DEW."]

Tho celebrated speedster of the local track, Apallo, won fur- ther laurels on Saturday when he accounted for the second' Aggre gate Stakes over a mile and a half from Sitting Bull. The going was far from ideal being both heavy and slippery, but in spite of this Apollo returned the fast time of 3 minutes 7.4-5 seconds.

t;

The day'a sport was characterized by keen finishes. Never be- fore in the history of racing in Hong Kong has there been so .much enthusinam shown as on Saturday. At times, the crowd simply "let itself go and shouted for their favourites at the top of their voices. The din that was raised when Vasylock and Boxing Eve raced neck and neck up the straight in the Record race was deafening, but this was overshadowed later in the after- noon when Sitting Bull and Apollo were locked together in a thrilling finish from which the latter managed to emerge a winner in the very last few strides, by n hend.

Hotman was defeated on his third consecutive outing, and it looks very much as if this pony is getting a bit stale. A long reet should prove beneficial to him.
