In the case of Miss Everard, he said that Mrs. Hearn's attitude right through towards her sister was that of a devoted woman an- xious to do all she could to anve her invalid sistor.

In the case of Mrs. Thomas, Mr. West said that the suggestion of the prosecution was that in the short time between which she was asked to join the Thomases on their trip to Bude on October 18, and when she did join them shë made up her mind to kill Mrs. Thomas, notwithstanding the fact that Mrs. Thomas, had been good kind friend to her and her sister for years.
