The first match was between 8. H.M.S. Bruce and H.M. Bridgewater for premier place in the junior division, and after a very fine game the former won by two goal to one.

The Bruce attacked right 'from the start, and the standard of play was very high. Both tonms wore all out to win with the result that the pace was exceedingly fast.

After many fruitless raids, on the Bridgewaters goal, H.M.S. Bruce opened the scaring through Kirkby, who, "taking pass from Joynca, headed a beautiful goal. The same player repeated his so- ceas a few minutes later when, dashing in to intercept a pass, he sent in a stinging shot which left the Bridgewater goalie standing,

The eccond half started with the Bridgewater attacking, and a foul io their favour saw them reduc ing the lead. Following a scrim rage outside Bruce's goal, Shand ran in a shot neatly into the cor- ner of the not.

Spurred by this success, the Bridgewater monopolised play for a while, but the Bruce defence was sound, and, despite the fact that their opponents were trying hard to not the equaliser, they hold the fort in fine style till the long

The Senior Match. Teams from H.M.8, Medway. and H.M.8. Hermes took the field for the senior, match while immediately followed the junior final,, and after holding their opponents down to onb, goal in the first half, the Hermes do. fence went to pieces after the in- terval, when the Medway notched four further goals.

10

The opening was scrappy, but the teams soon settled down play pretty football. Like the proceding match, the pace was vory fast, and early on tho Medway men. showed clearly that they were a much better combination.

The Aircraft Carrier was the first to attack, and soon forced, a fruitless corner. From the clear- ance, Hedway took the ball to their opponents half, when they, i turn, forced a corner, which,

MATCH WITH HAPPY

I.

Fairly even play followed for n apell, and time and again Millan, the Hermes goalie, earned rounds of applause for very spectacular After play lind been m progress for about half-an-hour, Hedgate took the ball down the Geld and opened the scoring for the "parent ship."

saves.

Thin reverse seemed to wake up the Hermes forwards up a little, but though they gave the Medway defence no little worry, they were never allowed to get within shoot- ing distance, and half-time ar rived with the Medway loading by one goal to nil.

Medway started off with a rush when play was resumed but the Hermes defenes was safe and clear. ed to sond their forwards down the field. They nearly scored, but the ball just skimmed the crossbar.

A nice movement on the right. way, but McGee was pulled up for off side, and almost immediately after, when he was well placed, the anime player was again ruled off- side.

A match has been arranged bewing promised well for the Med. tween the Kowloon Golf Club and the Happy Valley acction of the Royal Hong Kong Golf Club and will be played over the Kowloon course to-day.

Singles will be played in the tho murning and foursomes in. afternoon. Starting times have been reserved between the hours of and 1 g., and 2 and 4 p.m. The following are the teafes: 0.00 D. C. hight of his supporters, placed the ball right in the corner of the net to put Medway two up. A minute. lator the same player passed to McGee, who scored.

It was now evident that the Her- mes players were a beaten team, but they stuck to it gamely. The Modway, however, were playing with their tails up and a nice run by Rodgate resulted in a goal. From the kick-off, a nice movement on the left wing saw Skinner well placed, but, instead of taking a shot at the gohl, this player passed

Redgate, who scored his third goal, to bring Medway's total up to five. The whistle sounded soon' after.

At the conclusion of the match; Mre, Potter presented the Cup and w. Shield to the Bruce and Modway, respectively, and the cups to the
