Carpenter, Commodore of the Club, said they were very grate- ful to Sir William for coming down to give away the prizes and also to Lady Peel for her presence. It was the first time that a Governor of the Colony had attended Trevessa Trophy Race and it would always be a pleasure to look back rn the occasion:
