Referring to the trunk telephone line now being laid between Hong Kong and Canton, Mr. J. Scott Harston, who presided yes terday at the annual general meeting of the Hong Kong Telephone Company, said it was the first project of this nature to be under- takon in China and he hoped it would be the forerunner of a not- work of commitnications which would eventually link up all the. important cities of China.
