AFTER MANY YEARS' RACING.:

BRILLIANT RIDING BY Y. S. CHANG ON THIRD DAY OF RACE MEETING.

[BY MORNING DEW."]

Due of the best races seen in Hong Kong for many a day was. the Derby which was run yesterday morning at Happy Valley. There were, olgyen starters for the big race and the public made Y. 3. Conng's mount, King's Service,' the favourite. Chaag justi- fied expectations by riding a very clve me and getting the verdiót by a short head from Spey. Gold Key' was third a short head behind Spey. A full description of this ract will be found below,

The feature of yesterday's racing was the brilliant riding of Chang who secured victories on Hetman, King'e Justice and Jan Stewer, besides riding the Derby winner. With masterly pre cision Chang brought all his winners out in the middle of the straight on each occasion, and once ahead could not be passed,

The Dunba candidates disappointed in the Derby, both Fortune Bay and Sam Houston failing to get places, but their disappointment in this direction was somewhat azad, up-by the fact that Sitting Bull won the Challenge Cup for the seoad con- secutive year thus making the trophy that property of Mrs. Dunbar and also by the fact that Hiawatha and Elliot Bay finished in front of the much fancied King's Bounty in The Exchange Plate, In addition to this, the stalle registered a win through Tiana, who accounted for the "Black Rock" Stakes in. no uncertain
